Kris Jenner Admits She Doesn't Call Caitlyn by Her New Name: 'I Say 'Jenner' '

While the world may have welcomed Caitlyn Jenner with open arms, Kris Jenner is taking her time "getting to know her."

The matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner family opened up to Access Hollywood about the hyper-publicized changes her family has experienced, saying that the transition period has been a tough one.

So tough, that despite Caitlyn's recent legal filings to change her name, Kris still doesn't refer to her ex-spouse as Caitlyn.

"I say 'Jenner,' " she explained.

The momager said that the changes have made her realize that everyone handles things differently.

"We're all people. We all have different emotions."

The former couple married in 1991 and revealed their separation in 2013. Since then, a lot has changed, but they are finally working towards a friendship again and even hung out over drinks recently.

"I don't know about curl up on the couch," the 59-year-old said when asked if she and her ex would ever be great friends and curl up together. "But she came over for a drink last night and that was nice."

Although Jenner was married to Caitlyn [then Bruce] for over 20 years, she acknowledges the former Olympian is a different person now.

"I just thought she would be a little bit different," Jenner said. "Bruce had a distinct personality and, you know, had definite characteristics. And Caitlyn has some different ones, I feel."

In the interview, Jenner also touched on another personal, yet headline-making split – that of daughter Kourtney Kardashian and her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick – telling Access Hollywood that she's "always hopeful" the two will reconcile.

"I don't tell her things like that because I don't think that's my place," she answered when asked if she tells Kardashian to forgive Disick. "But, my kids were brought up to be very forgiving people. My wish it that, you know, they work it out and figure it out and we'll see what happens."

Regardless of if Kardashian decides to make amends with the father of her three children – Mason, 5, Penelope, 3, and Reign Aston, 9 months – Jenner says he's a great dad and she knows he loves his family.

"Scott is like my son," she said. "I just know that, you know, they'll figure it out. He's a great dad and he loves the kids and he loves Kourtney."
